Article

The article in some natural languages (the so-called article languages), one of the service parts of speech, used as part of a noun group (a word combination in which the main word is a noun, or its grammatical counterpart) to express a number of linguistic meanings, including the category of definiteness/indefiniteness, in relation to the knowledge field of the speaker/writer, and the addressee of the speech.
