The Arabic letter ع (ayn) has an ancient history and has been used since the development of Arabic script, which began in the 5th century CE. At that time, when Arabs began using writing, the letter ع represented a sound that did not exist in other languages, and therefore was difficult to pronounce for those who did not speak Arabic.

As Arabic script developed, the letter ع became associated with rich symbolism and was used to write many important words, such as "Allah" and "Quran". In addition, it was widely used for writing Arabic scientific and philosophical texts.

Over time, the shape of the letter and its writing changed. In the early Arabic script, the letter was written with three vertically arranged dots, which reflected the sound form of this letter. In later versions of Arabic script, these dots were replaced by a horizontal line.

In modern Arabic language, the letter ع still has important significance and is used in many words, as well as to denote some sounds that do not exist in other languages.

The letter ע (ayin) is one of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet and has a long history. Its original name was "eye" because the shape of the letter resembles an eye, but over time it took on other meanings.

In Jewish culture, the letter ע was associated with many symbolic meanings, such as knowledge, wisdom, and insight. It was used in many important words, such as "Israel" and "Jerusalem," as well as in traditional Jewish mystical philosophy of Kabbalah.

The shape of the ע letter in Hebrew resembles the letter "g," but with the addition of a dot at the top indicating the proper orientation of the letter. In Hebrew, it represents a voiceless pharyngeal consonant sound, which is produced by contracting the back of the oral cavity.

Throughout the history of Hebrew writing, the shape and writing of the ע letter have changed several times, but its meaning and symbolic character have remained unchanged. Nowadays, the ע letter still plays an important role in Jewish culture and religion and is used in many words and expressions.
