Translation methodology

The translation methodology we have chosen is guided by the basic principle of interpreting the Quran's terms by the Quran itself.

Faced with the problem of incompatibility of the semantic fields of the languages, we rejected some of the Church Slavonic terms, replacing them with new word constructions, for example, replacing God-fearing with responsible, or unbelieving with denying.

Some of the Quranic terms mentioned only once in the Book, we have tried to interpret with the help of homonyms from the Tanakh and the Gospel. Based on the kinship of the two languages, Aramaic and Arabic, this solution of the question seemed to us quite logical.

Convinced of the Quran's direct connection to science, we have attempted to synchronize modern scientific terminology with Quranic terminology. Thus, a number of philosophical, psychological, astronomical, and other terms, have found their place in the text of the hyperactive translation of the Quran.

Some of the terms become clearer if we use the method of antonym pairs. Such antonym pairs as kufr and iman, good and evil, life and death, frequently used in the text of the Quran, have led us to the idea that the meaning of some words, can be found from the contrary, using the antonym to a particular term.

The Quran and the Bible section shows the methodological principle of interpreting the ayats of the Quran with the verses of the Bible. Some places in the Quran can only be understood by referring to the texts of the Old and New Testaments. The examples given in this section show the importance of this method. In the Quran, in (2:27), God condemns those who "...divide what God commanded to be joined together...". Based on the context of the ayat describing "The Parable of the Mosquito," it is God's scriptures that must be joined together.
