📌 barrow (n.1) 🏚️ 👫 🧺

"flat, rectangular frame with projecting handles for carrying a load," c. 1300, barewe, probably from an unrecorded Old English *bearwe "basket, barrow," from beran "to bear, to carry" (from PIE root *bher- (1) "to carry"). The original (hand-barrow) had no wheel and required two persons to carry it.

📌 barrow (n.2) 🗻 🌄 🪦

"mound, hill, grave-mound," Old English beorg (West Saxon), berg (Anglian) "barrow, mountain, hill, mound," from Proto-Germanic *bergaz (source also of Middle Dutch berch, Old Saxon, Old High German berg "mountain," Old Frisian berch, birg "mountain, mountainous area," Old Norse bjarg "rock, mountain"), from PIE root *bhergh- (2) "high," with derivatives referring to hills and hill-forts. Obsolete by c. 1400 except in place-names and southwest England dialect; it was revived by modern archaeology. The meaning "mound erected over a grave" was in late Old English. Barrow-wight is recorded by 1869 in Eirikr Magnusson and William Morris's translation of the Icelandic saga of Grettir the Strong.

"barrow" on rus. is "kurgan"

a kurgan is a type of tumulus constructed over a grave, often characterized by containing a single human body along with grave vessels, weapons and horses. Originally in use on the Pontic–Caspian steppe, kurgans spread into much of Central Asia and Eastern, Southeast, Western and Northern Europe during the 3rd millennium BC.The earliest kurgans date to the 4th millennium BC in the Caucasus, and a part of researchers associate these with the Indo-Europeans. Kurgans were built in the Eneolithic, Bronze, Iron, Antiquity and Middle Ages, with ancient traditions still active in Southern Siberia and Central Asia. In the Great Steppe, including steppe Russia, are represented barrows of almost all eras (from the Chalcolithic to the present day) and the most diverse nomadic peoples, from the Indo-European to the Turkic language groups.

according to the Etymological dictionary of the Ukrainian language the word "kurhan" is borrowed directly from the "Polovtsian" language (Kipchak, part of the Turkic languages) and means: fortress, embankment, high grave. The word has two possible etymologies, either from the Old Turkic root qori- "to close, to block, to guard, to protect", or qur- "to build, to erect, furnish or stur". According to Vasily Radlov it may be a cognate to qorγan, meaning "fortification, fortress or a castle".

First Stage

All words are related, either directly or indirectly, they are connected at the level of values. they are connected at the level of meanings and virtual contacts, hence they are connected at the level of the real one, i.e. phonetic, grammatical, etc. grammar is the rules that line the operating system. without it, language becomes chaotic and can't serve sorting function. on another level, morphology, the origins of language, its roots and sounds.

light a match

In 1831, a French student Charles Soria, who was 19 years old at the time, invented to smear a mixture of white phosphorus, bertile salt, vegetable gum and some additives on wooden sticks. It was enough to strike such a match against any rough surface (for example, against the sole of a shoe), and the temperature increase as a result of friction immediately caused a violent explosive reaction.
