Etymology

The root fā tā ḥā (ف ت ح) is used in Quran 38 times.

"Opening - is the first sura of the Quran.

In canonical order, the 1st surah of the Quran is the surah "Opening ("Al-Fatahu")," and the surah "Opening ("Al-Fatahu"), which has the common root "fā tā ḥā (ف ت ح)" has the 48th serial number. According to Theodore Nöldeke, the surah was sent down in Mecca.

Based on his research, Theodore Nöldeke assigned the 1st sura of the Quran, "Opening ("Al-Fatah")" - 48th position, in the chronological order of surahs.

The traditional name of the first surah of the Quran, "Al-Fatiha," translated as "The Opening" does not fit with subsequent translations of the concept in question, defined by translators as "Victory" (see (4:141), (5:52), etc.). The Qur'an, however, has the root form ghayn lām bā (غ ل ب), which undoubtedly carries the meaning "victory".
