Iman (Arabic: إيمان - conviction)

Etymology

The triliteral root hamza mīm nūn (أ م ن) occurs in the Quran 879 times

compare with English. immune

immune (adj.) - mid-15c., "free, exempt" (from taxes, tithes, sin, etc.), from Latin immunis "exempt from public service, untaxed; unburdened, not tributary," literally "not paying a share," from assimilated form of in- "not, opposite of" (see in- (1)) + munis "performing services" (compare municipal), from PIE *moi-n-es-, suffixed form of root *mei- (1) "to change, go, move." Specific modern medical sense of "exempt (from a disease)," typically because of inoculation, is from 1881, a back-formation from immunity. Immune system attested by 1917

compare with English Immanence

Compare with English «mono-» - "alone, only, sole, single".

Compare with Egyptian «jmn - imɛn» - " hidden, precious; to create, form, shape (in a cosmic, divine sense)".

Security

(9:44) Those who trust to Allah and the Last day will not ask your permission to strive with their money and their lives. And Allah knows about the Responsible ones.

(2:196) Complete the Pilgrimage and the visit for God. But, if you are prevented, then make what is affordable of donation, and do not shave your heads until the donation reaches its destination. Whoever of you is ill or has an affliction to his head, then he may redeem by fasting or giving a charity or a sacrifice. But if you immune, then whoever continues the visit until the Pilgrimage, then he shall provide what is affordable of donation. If one cannot find anything, then he must fast for three days during the Pilgrimage and seven when he returns; this will make a complete ten; this is for those whose family is not present at the Restricted Temple. Be conscientious of Allah, and know that God is severe in retribution.

(2:239) If you are afraid, (pray) while walking or (being) on horseback. And when you immune, memorize Allah, as He taught you what you had no knowledge of.

(17:68) Do you not immune that He may cause part of the land to swallow you up, or cause a hurricane of stones to fall on you? For then you will not find a guardian and a keeper!

(67:16) Are you immune that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you up? For then it will vibrate.

(67:17) Are you immune that He who is in heaven will not send a hurricane of stones upon you? Soon you will know what My warning is!

(2:283) If you find yourselves on a journey and do not find a scribe, hold on to the deposit. But if you immune each other, let him to whom it is immunized pay for what is immunized to him, and watch out for his Lord God. And do not conceal the testimony. But he who hides it, his heart is truly (afflicted) with sin. Allah knows what you are emulating.

Fidelity

(9:72) God has promised the faithful (Arab. الْمُؤْمِنِينَ, l-mu'minīna) men and women gardens with rivers flowing beneath it, in which they will abide, and pleasing homes in the gardens of Eden. The acceptance from God is the most important; such is the greatest success.

(20:75-76) He who comes to Him being faithful (Arab. مُؤْمِنًا, mu'minan), doing good works, for those will be the highest ranks. Gardens of Eden with rivers flowing beneath them, abiding therein. Such is the reward of he who is developed.

Encouraging those who acknowledge

(4:84) So fight in the path of God. You are not responsible except for yourself. Enjoin those who acknowledge (Arab. الْمُؤْمِنِينَ, l-mu'minīna), "Perhaps God will put a stop to the might of those who deny." God is far Stronger (in) might, and far Stronger (in) punishment.

Iman and Islam

(27:81) Nor can you guide the blind from their misguidance. You can only make those who acknowledge Our signs hear you, for they have peacefully surrendered.

(49:14) The Arabs said, "We acknowledge." Say, "You have not acknowledged; but you should say, "We have peacefully surrendered", for acknowledgement has not yet entered into your hearts." If you obey God and His messenger, He will not put any of your works to waste. God is Forgiver, Compassionate.
