Etymology

Ordered at the root jīm nūn nūn (ج ن ن). It is borrowed from Classical Syriac ܓܰܢܬܳܐ‎ (gannəṯā) where the root means "lying down".

The gates of the heaven leading to The Garden

(7:40) Those who have denied Our signs, and (reacted to them with) arrogance, the gates of the heaven will not open for them, nor will they enter the Garden (Arab. الْجَنَّةَ, l-jannata) until the camel passes through the eye of a needle. It is such that We recompense the criminals.

Forbidden Garden

(5:72) Ingrates indeed are those who have said, "God is the Messiah son of Mary!" Although the Messiah had said, "O Children of Israel, serve God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever sets up partners with God, then God will forbid the Garden (Arab. الْجَنَّةَ, l-jannata) for him, and his destiny will be the fire; and the wicked will have no supporters."

Gardens of Eden

(9:72) God has promised the faithful men and women gardens with rivers flowing beneath it, in which they will abide, and pleasing homes in the gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتِ, jannāti) of Eden. The acceptance from God is the most important; such is the greatest success.

(13:23) Gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden, they will enter it with those who are good doers from their fathers and their mates and their progeny. The angels will enter upon them from every gate:

(16:31) Gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden, which they will enter, with rivers flowing beneath, in it they will have what they wish. It is such that God rewards the righteous.

(18:31) They will have gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden with rivers flowing beneath them, and they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and they will wear green garments of fine silk. They will sit in it on raised thrones. Beautiful is the reward, and beautiful is the dwelling place.

(19:61) Gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden, which the Gracious had promised His servants in the unseen. His promise must come to pass.

(20:75-76) He who comes to Him being faithful, doing good works, for those will be the highest ranks. Gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden with rivers flowing beneath them, abiding therein. Such is the reward of he who is developed.

(38:50) Gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتِ, jannāti) of Eden, whose gates will be open for them.

(35:33) They will enter the gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden, where they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments in it will be of silk.

(40:8) "Our Lord, and admit them into the gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتِ, jannāti) of Eden which You had promised for them and for those who did good of their fathers, their spouses, and their progeny. You are the Noble, the Wise."

(61:12) He will then forgive your sins, and admit you into gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتٍ, jannātin) with rivers flowing beneath, and beautiful mansions in the gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتِ, jannāti) of Eden. This is the greatest triumph.

(98:8) Their reward with their Lord is the gardens (Arab. جَنَّاتُ, jannātu) of Eden with rivers flowing beneath them; they abide eternally therein. God is satisfied with them, and they are satisfied with Him. That is for whoever feared His Lord.

Is The Garden only for Jewish or Nazarenes?

(2:111) They said, "None shall enter The Garden (Arab. الْجَنَّةَ, l-janata) except those who are Jewish or Nazarenes;" this is what they wish! say, "Bring forth your proof if you are truthful."

The Garden - reward

(9:111) God has purchased from those who acknowledge their very lives and their wealth; that they will have the Garden (Arab. الْجَنَّةَ, l-janata). They fight in the cause of God so they kill and are killed. A promise that is true upon Him in the Torah, the Injeel and the Quran. Whoever fulfills his pledge to God, then have good news of the deal which you concluded with. Such is the supreme success.
