Etymology

Camel - from Middle English camel, through Old Northern French camel (Old French chamel, modern French chameau), from Latin camēlus, from Ancient Greek κάμηλος (kámēlos), from Proto-Semitic *gamal-; compare Syriac ܓܡܠܐ‎ (gamlā’); Hebrew גמל‎ (gamál); Maltese ġemel.

In The Quran

Camel - jīm mīm lām (ج م ل)

The triliteral root jīm mīm lām (ج م ل) occurs in the Quran 11 times.

(7:40) Those who have denied Our signs, and (reacted to them with) arrogance, the gates of the heaven will not open for them, nor will they enter the Garden until the camel (Arab. الْجَمَلُ, l-jamalu) passes through the eye of a needle. It is such that We recompense the criminals.

Camel - hamza bā lām (أ ب ل)

(6:144) From the camels (Arab. الْإِبِلِ, l-ibili) two, and from the cows two; say, "Is it the two males that He forbade or the two females, or what the womb of the two females bore? Or were you witnesses when God ordered you with this?" Who is more wicked than one who invents lies about God to misguide the people without knowledge? God does not guide the wicked people.

Camel (Arab. النَّاقَةِ, l-nāqati) - temptation to the people of Salih

(7:73) And to the Saudites their brother, Salih. He said: "O my people! Obey Allah, there is no one for you who (becomes) a god apart from Him. For a definition has been revealed to you from your Lord. This camel of Allah is an idea to you. Let her graze on Allah earth, and do not harm her, or painful suffering will befall you."

Injeel

Guides blind! Those straining out the gnat (mosquito), the moreover camel (Greec. κάμηλον, kamēlon) swallowing! (Matthew 23:24)

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel (Greec. κάμηλον, kamēlon) to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:24)
