Dynamic translation
(10:98) Why was there not a single town that benefited from its acknowledgement, with the exception of the people of Joshua? When they acknowledged, We removed from them the retribution of disgrace in this worldly life, and We let them enjoy until a time.

(10:98) فَلَوْلاَ كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ آمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلاَّ قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ آمَنُواْ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ الخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ

(10:98) فَلَوْلاَ كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ آمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلاَّ قَوْمَ يُخْشَعُ لَمَّآ آمَنُواْ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ الخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ
Connected ideas
(4:159) Among the people of the book are few who would have acknowledged him before his death, and on the day of Resurrection he will be witness against them.
(11:3) "Seek forgiveness from your Lord, then repent to Him; He will make you enjoy an enjoyment until a predetermined period. He gives His grace to those who are of grace. If you turn away, then I do fear for you the retribution of a great day!"
(11:117) Your Lord would not destroy the towns wrongfully, while its people were good doers.
(37:147-148) We sent him to a hundred thousand, or more. They acknowledged, so We gave them enjoyment for a time.

1. Compare expression «فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلاَّ قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ آمَنُواْ» from (10:98), with expression «فَهَدَى اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لِمَا اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ» from (2:213).
