Al-An'am (The Cattle)

Dynamic translation

(6:12) Say, "So to whom is all that is in Heaven and all that is on earth subordinate? Say: "To Allah! Who has ordained Himself (to be) merciful. He will (surely) jam you together on the Day of the Presentation, and in (this) there is no doubt. Those who (harm) their souls - such will not (be) able to trust.

Arabic text

(6:12) قُل لِّمَن مَّا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ قُل لِّلَّهِۚ كَتَبَ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَةَۚ لَيَجۡمَعَنَّكُمۡ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِۚ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Connected ideas

(6:20) Those to whom We have given the book know it as they know their children. Those who lost themselves, they do not acknowledge.

(6:54) If those who acknowledge Our ideas come to you, then say, "Peace be upon you, our Lord has prescribed Mercy upon Himself, that any of you who commits sin out of ignorance and then repents afterwards and reforms, then He is Forgiving, Compassionate."

(11:21) They are the ones who lost their selves, and what they had invented has abandoned them.
