The triliteral root tā bā ʿayn (ت ب ع) occurs in the Quran 172 times.
(2:38) We said, "Descend from it all of you, so when the guidance comes from Me, then whoever follows (Arab. تَبِعَ, tabiʿa) My guidance, they will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve."
(18:66) Moses said to him: "Can I follow you (Arab. أَتَّبِعُكَ, attabiʿukaʿ), so that you will teach me, of what you have been taught (concerning) awareness?"
(75:18) So when We construct it, you shall follow (Arab. فَاتَّبِعْ, fa-ittabiʿ) its construction.
