The triliteral root jīm nūn nūn (ج ن ن) occurs in the Quran 201 times.

Genies (Arabic: جن, from Lat. genius" spirit"), has a common root with the word Genius (Latin genius — "spirit") — the highest level of intellectual or creative functioning of the individual, which is really manifested in outstanding scientific discoveries or philosophical concepts, technical or technological inventions, social transformations, the creation of artistic works that have long-term consequences in many areas of culture (see jinn in the service of Solomon).

As a rule, genius implies a high speed of work and productivity in any activity, a natural ability to abstract. Unlike talented people, many geniuses, especially today, manifest themselves in only one field (for example, mathematics, poetry, or painting), but are universal in it.

Despite the presence of "brilliant" scientists in various fields and areas of science and art throughout history, many geniuses have shown high achievements in only one type of activity.

(55:15) The Jinn He created from a smokeless fire.

Genius persons listen to the Quran

(72:1) Say, "It has been inspired to me that a group of genius persons (Arab. الْجِنِّ, l-jini) were listening." They said, "We have heard an interesting recitation/quran!"

(46:29) We sent to you a small number of genius persons (Arab. الْجِنِّ, l-jini), in order to let them listen to the Quran. So when they arrived there, they said, "Pay attention." Then, when it was finished, they returned to their people, to warn them.
