In The Quran

To Turn

(2:64) Then you turned away (Arab. تَوَلَّيْتُمْ, tawallaytum) after this. Had it not been for God's favor upon you and His mercy, you would have been of the losers.

To Protect

(66:4) If you both repent to God, then (be aware, that) your hearts have inclined (to wrong decision). But if you backup each other against him, then indeed God - He is his protector (Arab. مَوْلَاهُ, mawlāhu). And Gabriel, and the righteous of those who acknowledge, and the angels after that are his supporters.
