Repel

The triliteral root dāl fā ʿayn (د ف ع) occurs in the Quran 10 times.

(2:251) So they defeated them by God's leave. Thus, David killed Goliath, and God gave him the kingship and the wisdom and taught him what He wished. Had it not been for God restrain (Arab. دَفْعُ, dafʿu) the people to challenge one another, then the earth would have long been corrupted. But God has done favor over the worlds.

(41:34) And not equal are the good and the evil. Repel (Arab. ادْفَعْ, id'faʿ) it by that, which is better. Thus, one who, between you and between him was enmity, will become as if he is a close friend.
