Dynamic translation
(17:46) And We have placed on their hearts covers that prevent them from understanding it (the Quran) and in their ears deafness. And when thy Lord is mentioned, in the Quran, His omniscience, they turn their backs, (showing) antipathy.

(17:46) وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ وَلَّوْاْ عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمْ نُفُورًا

(17:46) وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ وَلَّوْاْ عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمْ نُفُورًا
Connected ideas
(6:25) Among them are those who listen to you; and We have made covers over their hearts to prevent them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears; and if they see every idea they will not acknowledge; even when they come to you they argue, those who reject say, "This is nothing but the ancient miths!"
(38:1) Sad. And The Quran, that (contains) The Methodology.
(73:8) (Use) a methodology of your Lord's name, and devote to Him completely.
