Surah Al-Isra (The Night Trip)

Dynamic translation

(17:93) or (until) you have a house that (amazes you) with its decorations. Or (until) you have ascended to Heaven. And we shall not (show) trust in thy ascent until you bring down to us a scripture (such) that we (ourselves) construct it . Say: "O my Lord, most holy! Who am I? - A mere dissident, a messenger".

(17:93) أَوۡ يَكُونَ لَكَ بَيۡتٞ مِّن زُخۡرُفٍ أَوۡ تَرۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لِرُقِيِّكَ حَتَّىٰ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيۡنَا كِتَٰبٗا نَّقۡرَؤُهُۥۗ قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّي هَلۡ كُنتُ إِلَّا بَشَرٗا رَّسُولٗا

Connected ideas

(10:24) The example of the worldly life is like water which has come down from the sky; it mixed with the plants of the earth from what people and the livestock eat. Then the earth takes its attractions and becomes glamorous, and its inhabitants think that they have mastered it. Then Our judgment comes by night or by day, so We make it a wasteland as if it never prospered yesterday! It is such that We clarify the signs to a people who think.

(26:198-199) And if We had sent it to some Foreigner, and he constructed it for them, they would not (show) confidence in it.
