Dynamic translation
(10:24) The example of the banal life is like water which has come down from the Atmosphere. It mixed with the plants of the earth from what people and the livestock eat. Then the earth takes its attractions and becomes glamorous, and its inhabitants think that they have mastered it. Then Our judgment comes by night or by day, so We make it a wasteland as if it never prospered yesterday! It is such that We clarify the ideas to a people who think.

(10:24) إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَاء أَنزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاء فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الأَرْضِ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ وَالأَنْعَامُ حَتَّىَ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَادِرُونَ عَلَيْهَآ أَتَاهَا أَمْرُنَا لَيْلاً أَوْ نَهَارًا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا حَصِيدًا كَأَن لَّمْ تَغْنَ بِالأَمْسِ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Connected ideas
(6:32) This Banal life is nothing more than games and an escapism, and the abode of the Hereafter is far better for those who are aware. Will you not be cleverer?
(15:3) Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with hope. But soon they (will be) acquainted.
(17:93) or (until) you have a house that (amazes you) with its decorations. Or (until) you have ascended to Heaven. And we shall not (show) trust in thy ascent until you bring down to us a scripture (such) that we (ourselves) construct it . Say: "O my Lord, most holy! Who am I? - A mere dissident, a messenger".
(18:45) Give them the parable of this banal life, like water which We have sent down from the sky, so that the plants of the earth mix with it and it turns dry twigs scattered by the wind. Allah is capable of all things.
(57:20) Know that this Banal life is nothing more than games and an escapism, and boasting among you, and an increase in wealth and children. It is like plants that are supplied by an abundant rain, which appear pleasing farmers. But then they dry up and turn yellow, and become useless hay. In the Hereafter there is severe retribution, and forgiveness from Allah and approval. This Simple life is no more than a deceiving enjoyment.
