The east and the west belongs To God

(2:115) To God belongs the east and the west (Arab. وَالْمَغْرِبُ, wal-maghribu), so wherever you turn, there is God's presence. God is Encompassing, Knowledgeable.

(2:177) Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west (Arab. وَالْمَغْرِبِ, wal-maghribi)...

(2:142)

Other

(2:258) Did the news come to you of the person who debated with Abraham regarding his Lord, though God had given him the kingship? Abraham said, "My Lord is the One who gives life and death," he said, "I bring life and death." Abraham said, "God brings the sun from the east, so you bring it from the west (Arab. الْمَغْرِبِ, l-maghribi)!" The one who did not appreciate was confounded! God does not guide the wicked people.
