Etymology

The triliteral root bā rā rā (ب ر ر) occurs in the Quran 32 times.

Compare with English. fair, by a phonetic shift (in reverse) of the consonant, from Arabic. through Latin p, to English f, we have the transformation ''بِالْبِرِّ - l-bira to English. 'pure, and to English. fair - spotless (figuratively or literally), pure, innocent, unblemished (figuratively or literally), clean and pure, innocent.

In The Quran

(2:177) Piety (Arab. الْبِرَّ, l-bira) is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west...

Filial piety

(19:14) And pious (Arab. وَبَرًّا, wabarran) to his parents, and never was he despotic or disobedient.
