Al-Ma'ida ("The Table Spread")

Dynamic translation

(5:51) O you who trust! Do not take the Jews and the Nazarenes as allies, for they are allies to one another; and whoever takes them as such from amongst you is one of them. God does not guide the wicked people.

(5:51)يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلۡيَهُودَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَۘ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٖۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمۡ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Connected ideas

(3:86) How is it for Allah to guide a community (showing) denial, after (showing) their trust, and scheduling that the Messenger is true, and they are presented with the Definitions? And Allah does not guide (to the truth) a Disgraced Community.

(9:23) O you who immune! Do not take your fathers and brothers as your associates if they have chosen faith over rejection. And those of you who take them as your equals are lawless.
