The triliteral root ṭā ʿayn mīm (ط ع م) occurs in the Quran 48 times.

(2:61) You said, "O Moses, we will not be patient to one type of food (Arab. طَعَامٍ, ṭaʿāmin), so call for us your Lord that He may bring forth what the earth grows of its beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said, "Would you trade what is lowly with what is good?" Descend to Egypt, you will have in it what you have asked for. They were thus stricken with humiliation and disgrace, and they remained under God's wrath for they were not appreciating God's signs, and killing the prophets with no justification. This is for what they have disobeyed and they were transgressing.

(3:93) All the food (Arab. الطَّعَامِ, l-ṭaʿāmi) used to be lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel forbade for himself before the Torah was sent down. Say, "Bring the Torah and recite it if you are truthful."

To feed the needy

(76:8) And they feed food (Arab. وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ, wayuṭʿimūna l-ṭaʿāma) out of love to the poor and the orphan and the captive.

The Messiah and Mary used to eat the food

(5:75) The Messiah son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; like the messengers before him. His mother was trustworthy, and they used to eat the food (Arab. الطَّعَامَ, l-ṭaʿāma). See how We clarify the signs for them, then see how they deviate.

Sacrifices

(51:57) I need no provisions from them, nor do I need them to give Me food (Arab. يُطْعِمُونِ, yuṭ'ʿimūni).
