Dynamic translation
(2:11) And when are said them, "Don't (provoke) disasters on the earth!" - they reply: "Certainly, we are absolutes."
Translation of Edip Yuksel
(2:11) If they are told "Do not make evil in the land," they say, "But we are the reformers!"
Arabic text
(2:11) وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ
Connected ideas
(28:19) But when he intended to grip the one, who was their enemy, he said, "O Moses! Do you intend to kill me, as you killed a person yesterday? Obviously, you intend to be a despot on the Earth! And you do not intend to be among (self) improvers."
(6:110) And We divert their intuition and eyesight, as they did not trust it the first time. And We leave them wandering in their transgression.
(7:170)As for those who adhere to the book, and they hold the contact prayer; We will not waste the gratuity of the reformers.
(11:117) Your Lord would not destroy the towns wrongfully, while its people were good doers.
