In the Quran

The triliteral root ṣād lām wāw (ص ل و) occurs in the Quran 99 times.

(2:3) Those who acknowledge the unseen, and observe the prayer (sala), and from Our provisions to them, they spend.

(2:43) Observe the prayer, and contribute towards betterment, and kneel with those who kneel.

(2:45) Seek help through patience, and the prayer. It is a difficult thing, but not so for the humble.

(2:83) We took the covenant of the Children of Israel, "You shall not serve except God, and regard your parents, and regard the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and say kind things to the people, and observe the prayer, and contribute towards betterment." Then you turned away, except a few of you; you were objecting.
