Dynamic translation
(2:55) And so you said, "Oh, Moses! Until we realize Allah in java, you will not (bring) us in denomination!". You were sided to the savagery, and you were thralled.
Translation of Edip Yuksel
(2:55) When you said, "O Moses, we will not acknowledge you until we see God openly!" the lightning bolt took you while you were still staring.

(2:55) وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّى نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ
Connected ideas
(2:67) Moses said to his community, "Allah orders you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you mock us?" He said, "I invoke to Allah lest I be of the okhloman."
(2:108) Or do you want to ask your messenger as Moses was asked before? Whoever replaces acknowledgement with rejection, has indeed deluded from the right path.
(3:183) Those who said, "Allah has accorded to us that we should not acknowledge a messenger unless he brings us an offering which the fire will not devour." Say, "Messengers have come to you before me with proof and with what you have said, so why did you kill them if you were truthful?"
(4:153) The People of the Book ask you to bring down to them a book from the Heaven. They had asked Moses for even more than that, for they said, "Let us see Allah publicly!", so the thunderbolt took them for their wickedness. Then they took the calf after the proof had come to them, and We pardoned them for this; We gave Moses a clear authority.
(17:90) And they say, "Unless you figure a stream for us from the Earth, you will not (earn) our trust!
